Posters for Imaginary Events uses interviews and personal ephemera to generate a series of fictional and actual event posters. Shapes Collective (Dana Dart-McLean and Amanda N. Simons) will interview residents and community members to generate text and gather images for a series of 5 posters. Participants will collaborate with the artists to envision posters for events that may or may not occur or have previously transpired. The posters will draw from global iconic poster art and will use a range of artistic modalities (illustration, health text, store etc., prescription ) inspired by the narratives and images given by participants.
