Come visit Oakland’s Digital Literature Garden on June 23 at Frank Ogawa Plaza (2-4 pm, reading and screening) and San Pablo and Market (5-7 pm, screening) 

The Digital Literature Garden is designed by Malaika Parker of the Hummingbirds Urban Garden Collective and will include a screening of the short film “The Knowing,” edited by Cheryl Fabio, director of Evolutionary Blues West Oakland’s Music Legacy and based on the short story by acclaimed horror writer Tananarive Due. The garden will include commissioned poetry from Raina Leon, giovanni singleton, and Audrey T. Williams and feature readings from poet Raina León, author of Profeta Without Refuge by Raina J. LeónTongo Eisen-Martin, author of Heaven is All Goodbyes; Vernon Keeve III, author of Southern Migrant Mixtape; Alan Clark, author of graphic novel The Black Panther for Self-Defense; Dera R Jones Williams, contributor to multiple anthologies; writer/ media personality Shannon HolbrookThaddeus Howze, author of Hayward’s Reach; writer/social entrepreneur Sonia Azizian; Sumiko Saulson, author of Solitude; Rochelle Spencer, author of AfroSurrealism: The African Diaspora’s Surrealist Fiction, and visual art by Keyvan Shovir Arts and the Kiss My Black Arts Collective.
