Peanut Twins is the experimental multimedia duo of J. Curtis Brown and E. Alexander Cohen, formed in 2015 at Mills College to explore a wide range of sonic territories — drawing from noise, free improvisation, electronic & electroacoustic music, jazz, rock, folk, etc. to craft a singular leguminous visitation of equal portions catharsis and contemplation.

Curt Brown is an Oakland-based artist and writer from Akron, Ohio where he was co-founder of Rubber City Noise, an arts collective based around a record label (on-going) and community space (on hiatus). Brown has recorded and performed music with the following projects: Black Unicorn, Baingan Bharta, blckdth, Cane Swords, Dennis Franz Kafka, eucarya, Map Collection, Mousecop, Peanut Twins, Wyld Stallyns, and more with releases on labels like Deep Distance, Field Hymns, Further Records, Hausu Mountain, Infraction, Patternbased, RCN, and Under The Spire as well as critical acclaim from publications such as Anti-Gravity Bunny, Clash Magazine, Decoder, Tiny Mix Tapes, The Wire, and Wonderland Magazine.

Alex Cohen is a performance artist, guitarist and composer. From 2007-2014, Alex performed regularly with the jazz fusion group Organ Yank. Since joining the Bay Area’s vibrant artistic community, Alex’s work has shifted toward theatrical forms, often involving found objects and homemade wearable instruments. He has performed with Huge Statue of Jesus, NucciCohen Duo, Harbinger, Hamir Atwal, Eyvind Kang, Dennis Franz Kafka, Bad Jazz, Paul Mitchell, and Vincent Davis.

Keith DeNatale is a bay area based video artist currently residing and making work in Oakland, CA. He has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and English at the University of California Davis where he attended from 2007-2011. Since graduating his video work has screened in a number of programs throughout the United States and has shown in galleries throughout the Bay Area. Keith is a member of the Bay Area based ‘pound star collective’ and has been showing work with the group since 2015.

Victor Mavedzenge was born in Zimbabwe. He studied fine art at The Slade School of fine Art in 2008-2010 where he earned his Masters of Fine Arts degree. He currently lives and works in Oakland California.
