Instagram post 2192503937889070228_1254185007 As part of the exhibition "Berlin Wonderland" we are having a special event on December 6 at the Pro Arts Gallery: There will be a talk with the author Andreas Vogel and the writer Karen Breslau, moderated by Gabriele Lange-Edwards (German Consulate General San Francisco) who was a student and journalist in West Berlin during the time the wall came down. Andreas Vogel will present his book "Mit philatelistischen Grüßen" which tells the history of the Cold War in the format of postcards. Karen Breslau was dispatched as a correspondent for Newsweek to West Germany in the fall of 1989. She covered the historic events that led to the reunification of East and West Germany in October 1990 and the collapse of communism in Europe. Afterwards, we are screening the film "Balloon" that shows the spectacular attempt to escape from the German Democratic Republic. We look forward to meeting you!

In June of 2014 he premiered his extended composition "Blood of the Air" at the 32nd Annual San Francisco Jazz Festival. Based on the speech melodies of Beat-era Surrealist poet Philip Lamantia, "Blood of the Air" was made possible with the help of Chamber Music America's 2013 New Jazz Works: Commissioning and Ensemble program (funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation), and with additional support from San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music. http://sheldonbrownmusic.com/ • Sheldon Brown - woodwinds zBug is a psychedelic jazz trio/quartet.
