Conceived as an outdoor/indoor one hour and thirty minutes project which is to be performed both on Oscar Grant Plaza and in Pro Arts Gallery & COMMONS, the performance will start at 5 PM, inside the gallery and continue outside, on the plaza. It will follow a spatial trajectory within the architectural space and exhibition (read more) at Pro Arts Gallery & COMMONS.
Don Nino will be playing a special set of guitar drone, which was specifically developed for the performance as Musard gravitates in a double ellipse to unveil the Plaza’s heights and perspectives and explore the democratic nature of the public space, through the freedom of movement.
A recent film: “SEGMENT DE TRAVERSE” 2019, directed and produced by Christine Dabague (duration: 30 minutes) will run in the gallery, concurrently with the performance. The film, featuring Yves Musard, was shot at the Collection Lambert Museum in Avignon, France. Musard was in residence at the museum for 6 months in 2016, while two installations were up: Andre Serrano Ainsi soit-il and A Summer at the Collection Lambert: REVEZ – AU COEUR – AMOS GITAI. The film traces the dancer’s path through the exhibitions where Musard acts as a liaison between the museum space and the works of art.
About Yves Musard
Defining himself as a “movement artist,” Yves’ movement performance develops the notion of an itinerary on the spot in a sort of imbricated time and space. He learns to isolate a movement and engage its spatial visit from within. Following a line of least resistance where the movement is self pro-pulsed into the air.
Yves Musard collaborates with numerous artists and institutions, among them most recently the Collection Lambert in Avignon, The gallery Campagne-Premiere in Berlin and now the Rio Bravo Fine Arts in T or C, New Mexico.
Yves lives in Truth and Consequences, New Mexico and Marseille, France.
About Don Nino
Don Nino is a musician and composer, based in Pantin, France. He plays electric guitar in an experimental approach, using effects that remind the fluctuations of vocals. For Yves Musard, he has developed a special set of guitar drone that evolves in various parts.
