A performance and photography installation
What captures your imagination, catches your breath, gives you tingles?
What can you not take your eyes (ears, fingers, lips) off of?
What if we turned it up?
San Francisco theater and performance mavericks, Mugwumpin, join forces with photographer Kegan Marling to bring your visions of lush beauty to life. Through a conversation with Mugwumpin performers, you’re invited to delve into your appetite for the ravishing and sublime. This discussion inspires the artists to develop impromptu transformations and choreography, which Kegan Marling channels into a dual portrait of the artist and participant.
A wide array of visual and performing artists come together to create new work, on the spot, based on surprise content presented live in front of the audience. Drop in for a part or all of this not-to-be-missed evening, which blurs the traditional boundaries between artistic disciplines and reveals the pretty/gritty process of making art from scratch. For this Hybrid Series, Mugwumpin, current artists in residence at Pro Arts, will be presenting a new participatory program.
