About the Trust

The Oakland Cultural Trust is an association of Oakland art organizations and artists working with the City of Oakland, business leaders, educators and families which:

  • Serves as a resource for relaying developments in arts funding and advocacy from the national and regional scene with the local community.
  • Advocates for the City's artists and arts organizations, and public art programs.
  • Builds relationships amongst cultural arts organizations for networking, resource sharing and culling best practices.
  • Builds relationships with policy-makers, the business community, the Mayor and City Council, and other industry and community leaders.
  • Provides a structure to establish an arts agenda for the City of Oakland i.e., Investment in Oakland's cultural economy, economic impacts of local arts, priority of arts education, commitment to cultural equity.
